Harnessing Technology for Learning

(Click here for workshop information for schools)

At Achieve Now, we believe that the effective use of IT is a vital ingredient in helping dyslexics and those with other SpLD, learn and achieve academically. However, since there is a plethora of technology out there of varying quality – how would you even know where to start?

ACHIEVE NOW CAN HELP YOU to QUICKLY and easily NAVIGATE your way
through a HUGE RANGE OF LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES.

Through my practical experience with dyslexic learners, I have researched and tested many educational technologies.  This workshop aims to familiarise attendees with the vast range of technologies available and how they can support dyslexic learners.

WE DO NOT SELL ANY PRODUCTS SO WE ARE ABLE TO GIVE INDEPENDENT ADVICE.

Workshops - what do they cover?

We introduce you to the vast range of technology available, such as apps and software programs, to help transform learning and ultimately boost confidence and motivation.  Workshops are designed to save attendees time as few can keep up with today's ever advancing technology.

Each workshop provides a good understanding of:

  • What is available

  • The cost

  • Pros and cons of each solution

  • Real life problems encountered

  • How problems have been overcome

A wealth of information is provided to enable attendees to get up and running using products as quickly as possible.  Many solutions are included, because one size doesn't fit all.

“Thank you for all your enthusiasm and ability to demystify and simplify the options available to help for my daughter”.
— Parent (daughter year 5)

Who should attend?

The workshop is suitable for anyone interested in supporting leaners with SpLD, including parents, teachers, tutors, adult dyslexics, or older children (14 years plus).

Where & when are they held?

Workshops are often requested and organised by a specific organisation, these include:

  • Regional parent support groups (evenings and Saturday mornings

  • Employers (usually lunch time sessions)

  • Schools (session for parents and teachers, and sometimes students, evening or in the school day)

This allows the content to be tailored to meet specific needs .

Often interested parents and teachers learn together. This engenders a productive collaboration between home and school that benefits all.

Have you had a talk at your school or workplace yet?
It only needs a few parents to ask and get the school or employer into action!

‘An excellent presentation, packed with information to take home and digest at our leisure.’
I shall be constantly referring to your slides and look forward to practising many of the suggestions. I am putting some of the recommendations in a report that I am writing at the moment.
I really do think IT is the way to go for dyslexic learners.
